Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Time spent with friends

Not in debate

Not in discussion

But in stuff and nonsense

Perhaps sharing vulnerabilities

Certainly sharing foolishness

Laughing with one another as we go

Cathartic

Healing

Life-giving

Sustenance for those days

when smiles are few and far between

when the business of life

requires sobriety

Today is a day

for indulging the humour

for creating a store

on which to draw

in days to come

when the load needs lightened

by the restoring balm

of a deep and raucous belly laugh.
